MATERIA created an idyllic community café and pool area in Mozambique to serve the city of Tete.

This recreational area was built taking into consideration the natural sloping of the land so to create an infinity pool overlooking a cliff into the nearby valley with a stunning view of the Zambezi river, the city of Tete and surrounding natural landscape.

The pre-existing trees have been preserved, and have become the departing framework dictating the positioning of the pool, bar and garden area. This follows MATERIA’s principle of learning from the territory – its vegetation, drainage profile, land contour and beauty – to envisage and implement a fully ecological design.
